SUMMARY:January 2024 PRNC Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This month we will be hosting representatives from the West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (WCCTAC) and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). They have been very receptive to feedback (and a tour) from PRNC board and community members regarding traffic gridlocks concerns as well as emergency egress and ingress issues. They also understand the community’s need for more immediate relief\, and that we cannot wait until 2026 for planned improvements at the bridge toll plaza and Richmond Parkway interchange\, which may or may not alleviate the traffic gridlock and certain emergency and evacuation ingress/egress issues. \n \nAccordingly\, they formed a working group with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA)\, Caltrans and City Staff / Public Works to look at some traffic engineering solutions and possible funding sources. Initial thoughts will be presented so that the community can provide valuable feedback.\n \nWe are also seeking volunteers to join the board. There will be some changes to the board introduced in February and voted on in March.
